I love Escape Spa!

This place is a real gem! I will definitely go back and refer my friends! I've gotten 2 haircuts there, by two different stylists, and both times they were the best cuts I have ever had. Everyone is really cool and you feel like you've walked into a downtown spa. You can even enjoy a nice cup of coffee while they attend to you. This time I went, Verena did my hair. She took her time with the shampoo and used products to help volumize my flat hair. She really listened to what I wanted and I ended up with a trendy new haircut that gave me such great lift! She cut it so well that I don't even need to style it, it just falls the way I want it to now! She was so cool - she even gave me a product to help preserve my hair color - for free!!! This place is just amazing! They have a whole list of services -nails, waxing, tanning, massage, fitness - and I will definitely go there for other things in the future. When you walk out, you just feel fabulous and it's such a nice treat for yourself! The best part is that it's very affordable, so there's no guilt! Can't wait to go back!

Escape spa rocks they make you feel real welcome and Tina does a superb massage and I will recommend this spa to all friends and Family. I give this spa A 5 star rating Syd Joachim And I would also like to add that Taryn does a splendid Job. Very polite professional and curtious as well and always calls back if you have a question or concern. Just want to say also I had a haircut by vanera today September 13 and she really is the best my hair has not looked this good in Months. And I had a manicure done by Marisol what a professional job. I give Escape a Five Star Rating.

I moved to the area over a year ago and was searching for a new Pilates studio. After trying a few places and being repeatedly disappointed I finally ran across Escape and decided to give the pilates class a shot. I was immediately impressed by the welcoming staff and clean look of the place! After my first class i signed up for a full semester and have enjoyed the classes since. The instructor is very knowledgeable with the art of Pilates and she switches it up with each class giving you a challenging workout. Highly recommend the Pilates classes!! It's a full service salon/spa so i also took advantage of getting my eyebrows threaded and a haircut here as well. I was very pleased with my haircut and the girl that does the threading did an awesome job and was extremely gentle. This is a great place in Riverdale. I have never written a review on Citysearch before, but couldn't keep this terrific find a secret!!!

My first experience at Escape was a gift of a day of beauty last year. I've been a regular ever since for several reasons. The friendliest, warmest staff of any salon I've ever been to. You feel welcomed and like an old friend even when it's your first time there. Some salons have their own little "clique" and everyone else is made to feel like they're imposing. You do not get that feeling at Escape. The hairstylists are honest and will give you suggestions of what would be a flattering style or color, rather than just giving everyone the same trendy look. There is a variety of fitness classes, including several yoga and pilates classes. No one is showing off but rather helping to instruct everyone, especially newcomers. The instructors are all certified and very knowledgable. The masseur is fantastic. He makes you feel very comfortable and will work on areas that need attention to give you a truly effective experience whether you're having a full body, hour long massage, or just a chair massage. Other services include semi-perm makeup (which I haven't had but I've seen others who look amazing!), facials, waxing, threading, manicures and pedicures. That's in addition to several state of the art tanning stations which have many regular customers coming in and out every day. Plus for those who worry about UV rays, they have laser spray tanning. You won't come out looking streaky or orange like some spray tans. My teenage daughter, who is very fair, got a natural looking spray tan even though she was afraid since she once had a terrible experience at another place. Escape is much bigger than you would guess from the outside. It's bright, clean and very modern. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. I highly recommend Escape. Even if you don't live in Riverdale, it's worth a little travel time.

Cons: Street parking at meters (but staff will gladly go out to put quarters in for you)
Great Brazilian Keratin Treatment!

I got my Brazilian Keratin Treatment done 2 months ago with Evon, at the Scape Salon, and I couldn't be any happier! My hair was so dry and frizzy and now, even in the worst humidity , my hair remains shiny, smooth and most importantly frizz-free. Evon did a great job. She is so talented and caring. I definitely recommend her!

Evon was my hairdresser and she is well trained and knowledgeable about the Brazilian Keratin Treatment. Before the treatment, my hair was frizzy and EXTREMELY hard to manage. Now it is healthy, silky and easy to flat iron . I am very pleased with the costumer service, professionalism and of corse, the finished product. :-)
Pros:ÝCreates shiny, comb-able, easily straightened hair.

Have finally found a great area hair salon! And the perfect stylist! Evon knows hair and knows people! She listens to what you want, and also offers suggestions to make it even better! Escape gave me an appointment on the weekend on very short notice. And Evon gave me a cut that is exactly what I asked for and more! Bouncy, needing minimal care, and a perfect frame for my face (took years off my age! Don't ask!). And! The price was right! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable (I got a mini-lecture and demonstration when I asked what a hair extension was!) and the salon is conveniently located near banks, the post office and a shopping center. As they say, "Try it, you'll like it!" And say "Hi!" to Evon for me!
Pros:ÝConvenient, reasonably priced, with a great friendly staff!

This place made me love Pilates. I've done Pilates in a lot of other places (NY Sports Club, private gyms, etc) and no one has given me the motivation to continue and to stick with it the way Tina has in her classes. I wish I could take them everyday. I've used the salon a few times for hair coloring and manicuring. Satisfied 100%. I recommend this place with no reservations and I could probably go as far as to say that Escape Salon and Wellness Spa is theee best in all of Riverdale.

I love airbrush/spray tanning. Unfortunately I tried this service at a different salon - it came out terrible & unnatural. I search the internet for a local spa/salon that offers airbrush tanning.. and Escape came up. I decided to give it a try, how much worse could it get? I was absolutely amazed by my results. The girl that tanned me tried to even out the color and streaks to her best ability and held a conversation... really made me feel comfortable standing completely bare in front of her. I have returned for this service, along with many others offered at the salon. I don't know who else does spray tanning, but I was tanned by Taryn (I'm not sure if that is the correct spelling). Definitely a must for the holiday season or special event... or even weekly if you are able to splurge a little.

The Escape Salon & Wellness Spa has been one of the best finds in Riverdale. I swear by Tina's Pilates classes and have seen amazing results. It's a whole body strengthening workout and its a great stress release at the end of the day. The salon also offers many other procedures. I've recently tried their airbrush tanning and loved the natural and even color it give me.
